This page from my master list of all Las Vegas articles I wrote while developing Vanabode as the best travel vehicle for cheap easy long term road trips.

Fitzgerald Hotel Las Vegas

Fitzgerald Hotel is known as the Fitz. You will see a staff wearing a pendant which reads the Fitz in letters over a rainbow. It's cute. Everything downtown is in contrast to the smoothed-over experience the Strip has become. Downtown is much more the core of hard partying, spontaneous wild times and carefree gambling. Of course none of it is on the scale of the Strip, but downtown throbs with an authentic, not-yet-forgotten, Las Vegas lust for life. now after 2016 downtown has become a whole entirely different monster. Get down here if you are van camping, it's wild and cheap and fun!

Fitzgerald Hotel Las Vegas NV photograph features live Keno from 6am to 2am everyday.

Photograph of Fitzgerald Hotel in Vegas shows the entrance of the Fitz, as it is known, on downtown Fremont Street. It is the first casino at the north end of the Strip. Don't miss the Leprechaun contests and green beer during the St. Patty's Festival.

We like eating upstairs at the coffee shop which is actually part of the buffet. Afterwards we go to the Man of 1002 Voices Larry G. Jones or the Country Superstars Tribute. Other impersonator shows in town include Legends in Concert at the "Imperial Palace" and the now closed Danny Gans show at the Mirage. All 12 casinos on Fremont Street are within short walking distance of each other so in actuality there's an incredible number of eating establishments to choose from.

We had lots of fun at the Larry G. Jones show, 'Man of 1002 Voices.' He is unexpectedly truly good, especially for the low price if your grab a coupon out of any tourist magazine. And if you love country music, the Country Superstars Tribute show again is truly outstanding; check out Reba. These low-priced shows combined with the free second floor balcony overlooking Fremont Street, make the Fitzgerald Hotel Las Vegas, NV a great vacation choice. If you're on the Strip check out Carnaval Court at Harrah's for outdoor dining, rowdy live bands and lots of people-watching.

Vacationers often stay at the Fitz because they can party through-out the whole Fremont Street Experience and know when they return a quiet, good-sized room with fresh sheets awaits them. Some rooms even have Jacuzzis. Good luck talking your way into one. Be sure to use this page to make your reservation because you'll get lower rates.

Comp policy is generous for gamblers. Wager $50 a hand for several hours and get a room for free. All slot play also gets comped when you are rated. They have all the table games you want and minimum bets are $5 most of the time. Same with craps. Ask about the free craps lessons. Expect to get lucky with the slots as they are loose and that's what keeps the Fitzgerald Hotel Las Vegas, NV reputation for good luck in tact. For free poker lessons try the Circus Circus on the north part of the Strip.

You can stand outside on the second floor balcony and experience the outdoor Fremont Street lights and sound show. Go down to the Krispy Kreme store and watch the hot donuts being made right in front of you.

The Fitz is the first casino on the Fremont Street. Check-in is quick and painless even if the parking is kind of scary with its narrow winding ramps. It's known for its famous balcony where you can watch the Fremont Street Experience. It's actually more than a balcony. It's a patio, very pleasant, but gets extremely crowded. Other free views in Vegas include Pure's outdoor terrace at Caesar's Palace and the indoor balcony at the Rio for the Masquerade Show in the Sky.

Rooms are mid-sized and always clean at the Fitzgeralds. Beds are made with fresh linens every day. Fitzgeralds has some of the best room rates in Vegas. Make your room reservations from this page; we have lower rates because we are locals. Expect quiet here. There's even a private outdoor pool. If you're a great talker try to get one of the rooms with a Jacuzzi in it.

Fitzgeralds has a great steakhouse called Don B's open for dinner. But wait and get dessert at the Krispy Kreme store downstairs where you can watch the donuts being made in the magic donut machine. Krispy even has free wi-fi. There's also a McDonald's and a buffet. We prefer to eat at the buffet coffee shop where you can order everything off the menu and catch the Larry G. Jones show afterwards next door.

Photograph in Fitzgerald Hotel and Casino Las Vegas shows entertainers Larry G. Jones and Kiki Kalor relaxing at the Fitzgerald Hotel and Casino Las Vegas.

Fitzgerald Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. This photograph shows entertainers Larry G. Jones, Kiki Kalor and her dog Bandit. Larry is known as the Man of 1002 Voices. Impersonator, singer and comedian Larry puts on a spellbinding show in the Fitz showroom. Kiki Kalor performs a high-energy Cabaret show with lots of audience participation.

Fitz is in 'glitter gulch' downtown Las Vegas, and is famous for its balcony patio on the second floor. The Fitz has always been an important part of the Fremont Street Experience, and is the place to stay for revelers. Be careful navigating in and out of the parking garage. The ramps are narrow and winding, and there is only a 6' 2" clearance for cars at the Fitzgerald Hotel Las Vegas which is why we never park our Vanabode here when van camping Vegas.
