This page from my master list of all Las Vegas articles I wrote while developing Vanabode as the best travel vehicle for cheap easy long term road trips. O Show Las VegasO show in Vegas has been running for fiftteen+ years now and the crowds are not slowing down. The O show focuses on water for most of the 90 minute show. The main pool is 25-feet deep and holds 1.5 million gallons of water. Bellagio's 'O' is simply entertainment the entire time with a mixture of clowns, swimmers, divers, and trapeze artists. O does have a story line but it is not as in your face as KA seems to be. For me, however, the show is more like one act after another with no real point. I was entertained but I personally like KA at MGM and Love at Mirage a lot better. Our very first Cirque du Soleil show was Mystere in 1995. And, we just saw it again last year and we were still impressed. We think that Mystere is the best Cirque show for the money.
It is all in good fun and the participant seems to enjoy it to. Because of all the shenanigans, high dives, and balancing acts no wonder Las Vegas tourists and locals want to see O in Las Vegas over and over again. Every act and performance of O is graceful and smooth. There are no special effects but the flying through the air and diving seems unbelievable, no harnesses and no strings attached. For instance, the Russian Swing with the divers being catapulted flying across the pool before gracefully diving into the pool at an accelerated speed. It was like they were suspended in air for longer than gravity allows. Two of my favorite acts were the synchronized swimming and the high dive. The high divers actually leap from 60 feet into a small circle of a pool. Basically they are indoor cliff divers getting paid. As a preteen I was looking into synchronized swimming so my fascination with this sport still lingers. O is an aquatic art to the max. Insider Secret - The discount tickets for the seating on the side of the theatre that are often sold at half price are worth it. You only miss 15% of the show 15% of the time. Like Treasure Island's
Mystere the costume designs are pure surrealism. The ceiling of the theatre
is definitely worth trying to get a picture of, shame shame, but it is
beautiful. Like all other Cirque shows the cast members are world class
performers and entertainers from all over the world. If you are worried
about the dress code for the O show in Las Vegas or any show in Las Vegas,
don't. We have been to many shows on The Strip and I have people in shorts
and t-shirts to people in gowns and business suits in the same theatre
watching the same show. Las Vegas is very casual like that, unlike the
ads on tv and in magazines. You won't be able to get into any clubs dressed
down though. So check out one of the most popular shows on the Las Vegas
Strip, the O show in Las Vegas. | ||
